The history behind the capsule is the history of ideas in astronomy and physics.

It took thousands of people, thousands of years to get to the point where they could send people to the Moon.

Here are some of the ideas and observations made along the way.

One of the main ideas that underpins everything needed to get the capsule into space is that of gravity. And the other one? - how to escape from gravity of course!
